Kistler Engines was established in 1993 and builds lightweight, high performance racing engines with a commitment to quality. We pride ourselves in high tech, innovative designs, producing highly competitive engines for sprint cars (410 c.i., 360 c.i. & 305 c.i.), as well as, late models & midgets. Kistler Engines has also earned a great reputation for our service among professional race teams due to our quick turnaround time on engine rebuilds.
We use of state-of-the art equipment, the highest standard quality parts and invest in constant research and development. Kistler Engines is setting the standard in the ultra competitive field of dirt track racing today. Customers powered by our engines have set numerous quick times, track records. They have also won on the local level as well as on national traveling series such as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, All Star Circuit of Champions and USAC.

A dirt sprint car racers dream is to win the Knoxville Nationals title. In 2001, Danny Lasoski, driving a sprint car with Kistler Engines power, accomplished this feat. Tim Shaffer joined this elite status with his 2010 win in the CH Motorsports owned, Brian Kemenah crew chief team.
In August 2016, Kistler Engines has since been under the hood when the checkered flag waves for the coveted title a total of 5 times when Jason Johnson Racing won. Kistler Engines has Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions titles, including 2016 champs Rob & Rita Hunter, driven by Chad Kemenah with crew chief Brian Kemenah, a World of Outlaw championship, many “Fast times” and track records including Attica, Williams Grove and Rolling Wheels Speedway where Paul McMahan in 2015 achieved the title of the fastest dirt track speed record in the world.
Staff
Paul Kistler, owner of Kistler Engines, is a proven engine builder. His engines have visited victory lane at the Knoxville Nationals and won several championships as well. Paul has spent 24 years in business, providing top of the line engines to racing teams across the country.
Paul’s wife, Sue, is responsible for Accounting & office management duties.
Our cylinder head specialist, Doug Freeman, began in 1999.
Chuck Coleman, machinist & CNC operator, has been employed 13 years.
Our assemblers, Mike Frater & Jay Provonsha have 20 years combined experience with Mike hiring on 16 years ago.
Engine receiving/ Tear down / Inspection / Shipping responsibilities belong to Kyle Myers & Tom Kistler.
We are proud to offer a combined 100 + years experience in sprint car racing.
